Ticket Resale Facility

RESALE CLOSES FOR SELLERS MON 25 JULY / FOR BUYERS TUE 26 JULY

As has been the case for the last three years, our ticketing company will offer a resale system where those who bought a ticket but can no longer attend can legitimately attempt to re-sell their ticket to recoup most of their original outlay. This then provides another opportunity for those who missed out in the main sale to nab a genuine ticket, all subject to availability of course.

The ticket resale facility will be offered via moshtix.com.au for 10 weeks from Thursday 26th May until Mon 25th July (for sellers) or Tues 26th July 2011 (for buyers).

Any refund is not guaranteed, and only occurs if the ticket(s) offered for resale are purchased by another person. If your ticket remains unsold after 5pm Tuesday 26th Julythen your original ticket remains valid and is deemed the property of the original purchaser. You will still be able to use your ticket to attend the festival. In this instance, the re-sale fee paid will be refunded to the credit card used for this re-sale service charge.

Ticket Buyers

Those wishing to purchase tickets offered for re-sale may do so from Thursday 26th May, until 5pm Tuesday 26th July.

Keep an eye on www.moshtix.com.au up to Tuesday 26th July, as tickets may become available for sale at any time.

Ticket Sellers

Those of you with tickets who are no longer able to attend may offer your ticket(s) for re-sale from Thursday 26th May, until 5pm Monday 25th July.

You will be charged a per ticket re-sale fee of $20 + the booking fees paid for the original ticket immediately as you offer your ticket for re-sale.

Once your ticket has been re-sold, you will receive email notification that your tickets and barcode have been cancelled, and the refund processed back to the credit card used for the original purchase. This can take up to 5-10 business days after your ticket has been purchased by another buyer.

Please note these important points:

  • Those reselling their ticket incur a resale fee of $20 per ticket plus the booking fee paid for the original purchase. The refund is not guaranteed, and only occurs if/when the ticket(s) offered for resale are purchased by another person.
  • Sellers cannot nominate a person to buy their ticket. In other words, the new name and date of birth details cannot be dictated by the seller.  The re-sale facility is completely anonymous, and all customers wishing to purchase re-sold tickets have equal opportunity and access.
  • Tickets put up for resale may not go on sale immediately – the timing of the release of tickets for resale is at the discretion of moshtix and Splendour. This is to prevent arranged sales which could open up the process to scalpers.
  • Tickets offered for re-sale can only be purchased for the face value, and any re-sale fees are incurred by the seller, not the buyer of the tickets.
  • Please do not ask us how many tickets will be available – we do not know how many customers with tickets will offer for them re-sale. Likewise, if you have a ticket up for re-sale we can't predict when another person may jump in and buy it. We're also unable to advise you where your ticket sits in the resale 'queue'.

Those wanting to try and offload their tickets have until 5pm Monday 25th July, 2011, to put them up for resale. This resale facility will be in operation from May 26th and we advise against leaving it until the last minute to put tickets up for resale, as your chances of finding a buyer at that time will be reduced, especially if you’re expecting to offload your event-only ticket.

Do NOT purchase tickets from unauthorised re-sellers or any online auction sites. We cannot verify these tickets are valid, which means there is a good chance these tickets will be home-made counterfeits, and you will be refused entry at the venue. The festival has no sympathy and zero tolerance for anyone stupid enough to buy e-tickets from anywhere other than moshtix who are the official outlet. If you see Splendour tickets offered for sale elsewhere, DO NOT TRUST THE SELLER, no matter what they say about being able to put your name on the tickets.  Remember, the name and date of birth on the ticket must match your ID, and the barcode scan must show the same info, if not you will be refused entry.
